Biography[]
Since birth, Susan has been told by her parents they gave her the wrong name. They were close with "Susan" but she should have been called "Sarah" after Sarah Bernhardt because apparently she was an actress from the very beginning (and her parents aren't very up to date).[1]
Susan Huckle grew up on the central coast of California, earned her B.A. in Dramatic Art at UNC-Chapel Hill, and has always known she would be an actor. Her experience spans touring, musicals, voice-overs, hosting, commercials, TV, film. Susan has been flexing her improv muscles at Groundlings and hosting the Special Effects Show at Universal Studios Hollywood. Favorite things are food, exploring, her parrot Henry, and food.
Early life[]
A true California girl, Susan grew up on the central coast, likes it 85 degrees all the time, and is ready at a moment's notice for a beach trip. At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, she earned her B.A. in Dramatic Art and Journalism (oh, "practical" degrees...). She began performing at regional theatres during college, playing "Sunny" in the Last Night of Ballyhoo as part of the Hot Summer Nights at the Kennedy season, run by Broadway performers Alan Campbell and Lauren Kennedy.[1]
Career[]
After college, she toured the U.S. in Babes in Toyland then moved to L.A., where she has performed in numerous venues from Downey Civic Light Opera to Zombie Joe's Underground Theatre. She is studying improv at UCB, regularly eats (sushi, pho, burgers, chocolate, you name it) and hosts the Special Effects Show at Universal Studios Hollywood (with Peter Vogt from the Hannah Montana Show). Her recent TV appearances have been on The Mindy Project and Marvin, Marvin. [1]
